PocketTide is a browser-based dashboard for exploring structures of the glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R), one of the most important and intensively pursued targets in metabolic disease. It brings the growing body of GLP-1R structural data into a single, navigable view so that structures, their key features, and their differences can be surveyed at a glance.

Why it matters: GLP-1R sits at the centre of the incretin-mimetic revolution in diabetes and obesity therapeutics, and its structural landscape (peptide-bound, small-molecule-bound, G-protein-coupled, in multiple conformational states) is expanding rapidly. Keeping that picture organised is hard when the relevant structures are scattered across the PDB. PocketTide is useful for structure-based drug design teams who need to triage GLP-1R structures quickly, compare binding modes and receptor states, and orient a project against the available structural evidence, all from a single self-contained HTML file with no install and no build step.

✨ What it does

CapabilityDescription
đŸ—‚ī¸ Structure browserSurvey GLP-1R structures in one organised dashboard view
đŸ”Ŧ Feature summarySurface key attributes per structure (method, ligand, receptor state)
âš–ī¸ ComparisonPlace structures side by side to compare binding modes and conformations
đŸŽ¯ Target focusPurpose-built around GLP-1R rather than a generic structure viewer

â„šī¸ This README describes PocketTide at the capability level. For the exact panels and data fields in your build, open the app and explore the live interface.

🚀 Running locally

PocketTide is delivered as a single self-contained HTML file. The simplest way to use it is to open the file directly in a modern browser:

open PocketTide.html # macOS
start PocketTide.html # Windows
xdg-open PocketTide.html # Linux

If the dashboard pulls structural data from external APIs (e.g. RCSB PDB), browser file-origin restrictions may block those requests when opened as a file:// URL. In that case, serve it from a lightweight local HTTP server:

# Python 3
python -m http.server 8080

# Node.js
npx serve .

Then navigate to http://localhost:8080/PocketTide.html.

🧭 Context

PocketTide is part of a wider portfolio of structure-focused tools and dashboards. It pairs naturally with structure-based drug design work on GLP-1R and related class B GPCR targets.
